Understanding
High Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a waxy substance in your blood that is essential to your body.

80% of Cholesterol is produced by the liver; 20% come from foods, especially from animal products.

Cholesterol is classified in (2) Categories:
LDL ( bad for the Heart )
HDL ( good for the Heart )

Too much LDL reduces blood flow in the arteries – and eventually clog them. (similar to blumbing pipes)

When the LDL is too high – or the HDL is too low, it is diagnosed as:
HIGH CHOLESTEROL.

The values appear on the Lab Report.
