Understanding
High Blood Pressure

Each time your heart beats it sends blood to the rest of your body through your veins and arteries.

The force in which the blood goes through the arteries is called SYSTOLIC pressure.

The pressure between the heart beats is called DIASTOLIC pressure.

When the SYSTOLIC pressure or the DIASTOLIC pressure is consitently reaching 140/90 or more, it is diagnosed as High Blood Pressure also known as hypertension.

The actual pressure of the blood is measured by a:
BLOOD PRESSURE MACHINE.
