High Blood Pressure
• Each time your heart beats it sends blood to the rest of your body through your veins and arteries.
• The force in which the blood goes through the arteries is called SYSTOLIC pressure.
• The pressure between the heart beats is called DIASTOLIC pressure.
• When the SYSTOLIC pressure or the DIASTOLIC pressure is consitently reaching 140/90 or more, it is diagnosed as High Blood Pressure also known as hypertension.
The actual pressure of the blood is measured by a:
BLOOD PRESSURE MACHINE.
